As a 2-3x per week renter (though still 5* since I started last October), I reserved a full-size w/ sat at ORD. I had tried to change the reservation to something better when I found out I would be driving the head honcho, but since nothing else was available I added the sat radio hoping to at least get a new(ish) sedan.

I was greeted with a 2 year old Malibu with 48k miles and a sickeningly strong air freshener, overpowered only by the smell of smoke that it fails to mask.

I didn't have time to mess with the gold counter, but I am definitely writing a letter about this one. Far and away the worst rental I've ever seen from any company. It would seem loyalty is a one-way street with Hertz...
