Will that Iceland Air route have a free stopover at KEF? If so, then I guess it'll be ok to give up the miles since I haven't been to Iceland before.
Icelandic air ex-SEA stops at Reykjavik. What I heard from my co-worker is that you always clear their immigration and get stamped on the passport with an entry stamp that will take up a whole visa page, and then an exit stamp that takes up another visa page. With that, you'll probably get a free stop-over with Icelandic Air.
They use a 757 for this flight. Probably the longest 757 flight that's in service - right at the limit of 757's ETOPS range.
