I rented the 2012 version from SNA a few weeks ago--with under 500 miles on it. The pros for me with this car are that it has terrific visibility all around, making it easy to nip around in traffic. This is a big plus to me as where I live everything seems to happen in slo mo compared to where I rent: every little thing helps! I found the seats to be adequate but lacking in shoulder/high back support. It is as if they're made for someone a few inches shorter than me. My wife, at 5 ft 8 in, found them to be perfect.

I also rented what I assume is the 2011 model last week in SAN. It had about 10K miles on it. The engine was noticeably rougher than the 2012 and it didn't have as good side mirrors or a trunk push button at the back. Otherwise, it seemed pretty much the same with only a few other minor differences. I didn't like this car as much, which might be because of its 'worn' feel, or maybe because someone kindly dented and scratched the side when they were parking and didn't bother to leave a note.

One additional point: I really hate the keyless ignition with rental cars as having the two over-sized fobs to carry around really sucks. I always end up sticking the fob on the seat of in the cup holder, which raises the risk of forgetting it there. I've had these on a few rentals now and I don't really see the advantage, even if one only had to carry the one fob around--it is still massive.
