This doesn't sound like a scheduled-service market to me.
The main campus of the UA system is UAF, there are many more foreign students there, especially in graduate programs, but I'm sure no where near enough to support a direct flight. There is also a relatively large population of Russians in Delta Junction. I would like to see AS give Russia another shot, I think with the 737's and easy connections from the lower 48 it could work.
