what I never knew is how fast allliances forget about dead airlines and their customers
I'm sorry but I feel that this is being a little unfair.
If I understand correctly (and my apologies if this is not the case) a company that you were doing business with has gone bust. This is inconvenient for many people, not least the staff and for you, means that you have lost the accumulated points in their loyalty scheme. I can appreciate that this must be both annoying and frustrating and extend sympathy to you. That said, to me it seems unreasonable that you should complain that another company declines to bail you out when there is no reasonable expectation that they should do so.
Mind you, I suppose that we all did it for the banks, so maybe a precedent has been established?
