Sea Temple,
Peppers (and perhaps the
Reef House) in
Palm Cove or
Sea Temple and Peppers (and perhaps the Sheraton) in Port Douglas. Don't stay in Cairns.
Go snorkelling on the reef, take the train/skyrail to Kuranda, visit the Atherton Tablelands.
