You applied in 2011, and your 15 nights posted before 1 Jan 2012. So they counted toward your 2011 status, not your 2012 status. 10 nights were used to get you to Silver level in 2011 (which will last for all of 2012), and then 5 nights were left over. These nights then rolled over to 2012, which is why you have 5 rollover nights and are Silver.

Seriously, thanks. I've been wondering the very same thing about my DW's account; she received the Chase card & earned the bonuses/status in late 2011, just as you surmise.)
