Travelers should be reminded that LAN has a "visit South America" pass, and OneWorld has a similar-but-different one. Prices and rules are different enough to warrant comparison. The LAN version can be booked on-line, the OW version requires human assistance - the AA RTW desk is a good choice for that because you'll have friendly help in case something goes wrong along the way.

Not that that's likely to happen in South America.
