It appears to me that you interpret the household account as a single account. It isn't. It is only a grouping of individual accounts and the points are pooled.
To me it sounds like you should just keep the HH account and spend miles from it.
THat is how a BA HHA works.
An avios.com (ex Air Miles) HHA works totally differently. The miles are permanently pooled in 1 pot, and if you dissolve the HHA you can split them out however you like.
