I continue to use TA frequently and have no trouble applying reasonable triage to evaluate reviews. I am, however, far less comfortable with the local "ranking" system which seems vulnerable to "loading' on both the positive and negative sides.

Positive reviews: Fairly easy to value and evaluate, the shills usually stick out like sore thumbs, both in style and content.

Negative reviews; Fall into 4 categories, the smallest of which are honest and broad evaluations, while the largest number seem to be drawn from some singular (and perhaps not always justified) area of complaint. Then there are the "nit-picking chicken sh*ts" whom I suspect are rarely ever satisfied. last, and harder to separate than "false-positive" shills, is the occasional review stimulated or posted by a competitor's minion(s).

FT is, on the other hand, an entirely different venue within which the credibility of individual posters can often be based on the number and content of other posts to other threads, their acquired repute (or disrepute), and for some a continuing sense of ax-grinding or questionable capacity for lucid thought.
