Sometimes the traveling gods aren't and your plane has a burned out position light. Contract maintenance is called, but he drives slow, so you end up missing your connection which is the last flight of the day. This happened to me earlier in the week here in TUS.

You shouldn't have an issue standing by for the final destination if your first leg is late. You can also co-terminal (i.e. move to HOU-OAK or LAS-OAK/SJC).
