Out of curiosity, does your profile state a preference for aisle or window? I find that when the system auto-selects my seats, it's always based on my preference in my profile. Worth checking if you have not already.

I'm keeping a more obsessive eye on my reservations. This would have been a world of suck PHX to ORD. There have been a bunch of minor schedule changes/flight number changes, as could be expected, but unless 20 GS suddenly booked, I don't see why the system pushed me to a center seat. There wasn't an equipment downgrade.
