Bake12,

I'm a newly minted AC*E. I'm learning that if I log into AC.COM before I begin doing any previews/bookings, that it will show me the Elite seats available. For example, if I do NOT log in, and go to AC.COM to check seat availability for a 77W flight (such as HKG to PEK), then all seats from row 18-31 are 'occupied'. But if I log in with my AP account first, then try to view the seat availability, then I'll now see that seats are available in that same section...I know, I know...all you long-time E's/SE's are shaking your heads that I didn't know this 'perk' existed...I'm greener than fresh broccoli.

Anyway, while logged in with my AP number, I can see that 19C and 19H are NOT free for me (recall, I am Elite), but in fact are "Preferred seats" that can be purchased, as they are considered as 'bulkheads'. See seat map below:

HTH,
JJJ
