As a diamond staying at a hotel with a lounge I have always been allowed to have a full breakfast (usually buffet) at no extra charge if I did t want to go to the lounge.

In December at the LAX Hilton I was told that Diamonds can only have breakfast in the lounge. I was confused as the person that seated me crossed my name off a list which is what I have always encountered.

The waitress gave me a bill for the full buffets and I explained that the lounge was crowded and I decided to take breakfast and as a diamond it is complimentary. She said no, got another manager to come over and said I was wrong but they would make an exception.

So, are diamonds now only to get continental breakfast? Only in the lounge? What of there is no lounge? Only continental breakfast?

Am I worried for nothing and LAX was wrong?
