So...any difference in Plat benefits? Room upgrades? High on my list is a quiet room with nice views, preferably of the Atlantic.
No experience in actually staying at either place (we have a time share in the same plantation as CP), but if a view is important at the CP, get a high floor, at least the 3rd. There's a sort of a high sand dune between the property and the beach itself, and there's also a plantation clubhouse and a large entertainment pavilion in that area, so there is lots to block your view.
Also regarding the CP: The security guards on that plantation have been deputized, and they are not afraid to give out speeding tickets. 25 mph is the limit, and wear your seat belt.
