First, our favorite topic..Airlines. Who is big there, preferred? Right now I am a DL flyer, but definately willing to reconsider my loyalties.

I spent 7 years in the area, but have only been there twice in the past 5.

Airlines- from what I recall, the big three would be:

Delta- Traditionally the "Southern" airline (prompting the old "when you die, you might go to heaven and you might go to h*ll, but you'll have to change planes in atlanta)

US- Former Piedmont, hub in CLT. Now has former AA (then CO/NW) partner Midway, as a US affilliate, if it survived the US bankruptcy issues.

AA- AA de-hubbed in about '93, but kept some people while I was still there through their marketing with the (then) newly-relocated Midway Airlines. Not sure how many holdovers still exist, though.

Congrats on your wife's residency, and hope you enjoy your time there.

Also- if you provid your current Elite status, mileage portfolio, and travel plans, I'm sure we could provide more recommendations.
