I'm not sure why there are discrepancies in CX fares goin to north america for same booking class lately, like for example, for flights going to JFK, before sept, their non miles earning economy save (booking class S) now costs $1255, while economy save starting sept goes down to $995. Same goes for other North American destinations.

Last year it was uniform through out the year for the same booking classes...

And why the big price change for flights before Sept?

A non miles earning S class ticket before Sept is way more expensive than a miles earning V class ticket for Sept..

For example:

non miles S class ticket to JFK before sept = $1255
miles earning V class ticket to JFK sept = $1100

This means that an economy S class ticket used to worth $995 last year now worth $1255 if your flight is before Sept, that's a whopping $260 price increase!!!

any insider from Cathay explain whats going on? Does this have something to do with premium economy seats launch?
