Yes, with moving foot traffic in corridors etc. it is considered appropriate to walk on the left in the direction you are facing.

On escalators as mentioned the correct protocol is to stand on the left and if you wish to walk the right is supposed to be kept moving or clear.

On the sidewalks one could naturally conclude the same would prevail as in enclosed corridors, but outside the total lack of similar courtesy and common sense is very visible.
