Whether to use UA 1K or CO Platinum number on CO-operated flights between now and 3/2
Having seen mixed reports in various threads regarding EUA and gate upgrade priority on CO-operated flights in early 2012, I would like to know if anyone can help clarify whether CO Plat is still prioritized higher than 1K on CO flights. Some evidence I've seen to the contrary is how the 1K tier appears to have been added into the CO computer system such that what once appeared as "UA*G" now prints out as "UA 1K/*G" on the boarding pass. Combined with reports of peoples' 1K status being incorrectly mapped to Presidential Plat early in the new year, the evidence seems to suggest that programming changes were made to add the 1K tier to the CO systems. This would make sense with the approaching systems integration in March.
However, my question is whether this newly mapped level in the CO computer system has gone live in terms of EUA and gate upgrade priority. I have a mixed UA/CO itinerary coming up and was wondering if I should now use my UA 1K number for both CO and UA operated flights. I understand that for most of the interim merger period last year, CO Plat was accorded higher priority when it came to CO metal. However, I suspect that may have changed given the recent software changes. I'd greatly appreciate any official clarification or field observations of upgrade priority of 1Ks vs. Plat on CO metal in the past month. Thanks!
