* Amankila: although sand is nice you have a constant view on the oil tankers which are headed to the harbour next to the resort (I found it very annoying, how can you relax if you always see massive industrial boats when gazing at the sea?). Reminded me of FS Langkawi where part of your view is an oil refinery
* Amanusa: Nusa Dua is completely tourist infected (it's a hotel ghetto). The beach itself is nice but there's no sense of privacy

Was quite amazing couple weeks back , couldn't see a boat / tanker / ferry from the tiered pools at Amankila !! A couple ? of fishing sampans in the horizon .. really rare though ..
But there were a couple of tankers that could be seen from the ' right ' side -(Amankila Suite side ) .
Try Amanusa in ' low ' season - not ' private ' like Amanpuri but not as bad you say either ..
Amanpuri at times invaded by jet ski .. But not in low season
Don't care for pebbly beaches too.. But if the area is such geologically ..
