Returned mine this morning to BWI. Easily the nicest rental I've ever had from National, but still a few complaints about the car. For what it's worth, I had a white-on-black 2011 328i, with Enterprise keytags. I was especially pleased that there were no rental "barcodes" anywhere on the car; those always makes me uncomfortable when parking overnight on DC city streets.

I am disappointed that National did not option these with the Cold Weather package. This is surprising given that most of the other luxury vehicles (Volvos/Infinitis/etc) they stock do have heated seats. I'm guessing they got a deal on these from BMW which is why they are optioned weirdly.

My car did have the Navigation enabled (unlike drzoidberg's). While I'm familiar with the BMW Navigation (iDrive) system, I still find it to be way too complicated with far too many menu-submenu operations required to use the system. At least it doesn't lock you out while the car is moving, but given the system's complexity, it probably should for safety's sake. For the average renter, I'd imagine figuring out how to use the BMW system would be a nightmare and downright dangerous if learning on the fly.

I too would much prefer the sport seats with adjustable thigh supports. While the basic ones were OK at best, I wouldn't want to go on a long trip in these. The seat bottoms were too short for me.

I agree with posters above that the steering felt very heavy, especially around town at low speeds. Parallel parking this thing was not fun. Also, the run-flats made for an overly noisy and firm ride. Yuck. It also felt like you were dragging an anchor from when starting from a stop light. The gas pedal/acceleration calibration seemed very off, with either not enough pressure to get moving or you took off. Not sure what that was about.

I'm also profoundly unimpressed with the gas mileage. I've got a light foot and barely saw 17MPG's with 50/50 mixed highway/city. For comparison I was seeing about 21 on an S60 T5 which has 10 more horsepower and is a heavier car, under identical circumstances.
