homecoming tradition

Does anyone have a homecoming tradition with their significant other? Mr. Kipper travels a lot, and initially, our tradition was that every time he'd travel, he'd bring home a Tootsie Roll for me. Since neither one of us really loves Tootsie Rolls, that's fallen by the wayside. He usually brings a small present for me now, be it a shirt, a book, or a stuffed animal, although occasionally, if he's not been anywhere exciting, we pass on that as well.

However, our new tradition is that I always greet him immediately post-security, and have a cold soft drink waiting for him. Yes, rather silly, but it works for us. Since it's a small airport, I can usually get there as his flight is landing and still make it to the vending machines, grab a soft drink for each of us, and still be in my usual spot.

When I was a child and my father would travel, he'd always pick up something for my sister and for me on his trips, even if it was a cheap trinket from the airport, so we knew he thought about us on his trip.

What are your homecoming traditions?
