When you make an online reward booking, it notices if you have an e-cert on your account that could cover it and it asks you if you want to use it.
This is my experience - but it only seems to work when booking 1 night at a time.
When you get to the final screen to book the room (using reward points) it noticed the available certs and offers to attach one of them to the reservation instead of points.
