Pass the lounge - love the CDG lounges; however, my 3 hour connection did not afford me enougn time to visit
Get to gate

Not sure that your experience is normal. I was supposed to have an almost 4 hour layover in CDG when flying IAD-CDG-BUD last October. With the departure delay in IAD I ended up with just under 1 hour to connect. I didn't run but I didn't dawdle. Arrived at the BUD gate just as they started to board. Not as bad as many posters make it out to be.

In all my trips through CDG I made it to the lounge twice.
My shortest layover has been 1.5 hours and I barely made the flight.

I like AMS much better and always have time for the lounge.
Mine was under 1 hour and I made the flight with time to spare. YMMV.
