Welcome,
Hoosierflyer!
SarahWest, wonderful news that you are coming. Several people have expressed hope that you would.
Scotty, sounds like we can have a TAROM board meeting!

(Who needs that
blairvanhorn anyway?

)
OK, I need help. I need to chose a place for dim sum for our Saturday lunch. I've gone to New World for pancakes and shredded pork, but haven't tried their dim sum.
Here are three possibilities, all in Chinatown and a short walk from Leicester Square or Piccadilly Circus.
New World
1 Gerrard Place, W1D 5PB, Tel: 020 7434 2508
With up to 600 covers, New World is not only among London's largest restaurants, but probably Europe's too. And, though it has an extensive menu of good quality Chinese fare, the most highly rated (and popular) option here is the dim sum.
Harbour City
46 Gerrard St. (Leicester Sq./Piccadilly Circus) London, W1 020-7439 7859
Opinions on this functional, tri-level Chinatown eaterie are polarised: to admirers it's a "genuine" spot with "fresh-tasting" Chinese fare, "excellent dim sum" and "friendly" staff, but dissenters are "disappointed" with the "quality" and slam "slapstick service" and "crowded" conditions.
Joy King Lau
3 Leicester Street, London, WC2H 7BL (Leicester Sq) Tel: 020 7437 1133
All the usual varieties of Dim Sum are here, on a more than usually helpful laminated menu; highlights included a steaming and tasty sticky rice with pork, flavoursome chive patties, delicious turnip paste, and finger-licking chicken feet. The prices are an absolute bargain
Has anyone eaten at as least two, and have an opinion between them? Please, no suggestions outside of the Chinatown/Leicester Square area - I want to keep this really easy for us to find.
