I'm looking at two itins SFO-LHR-SFO on the same days. The itin with direct flights is "not eligible" for an upgrade. An itin that has an LAX layover both directions is eligible. All segments in both cases are V class. I didn't see any evidence any flights on different metal. What is different? Thanks
Direct. Check to see if your SFO-LHR is REALLY nonstop or has a plane change.
In order to be eligible for an upgrade (any kind) on a direct flight, ALL segments in the direct flight must be able to clear at the same time.
Yes, I know it's stupid. You can try calling in and see if they will manually split it for you or get you somehow on the upgrade list for the overseas segment.
