I would try a 'softly softly' approach first. I think I would look for either miles refunded (2 x times of course), an upgrade to F for 2 on my next longhaul flight or perhaps a refund of my 241 voucher. I would consider those to be fair.

This would be on top of my out of pocket expenses (ie hotel and so on).
