My buddy always buys travel insurance and it paid off for him when his father in law got sick and he had to jam out our trip to Europe. We never buy travel cancellation insurance and it came back to bite us once when we had to buy new outbound tix when a close relative passed away about a week before we were scheduled to fly out. However, it's kind of balancing out in terms of all the premiums would have had to pay versus getting reimbursed for that single incident (fingers crossed).
Yeah, it seems most posters support the air line. If I'd missed the flight because I'd over slept or some other lame excuse, I would have accepted the loss, no problema. I contacted Cebu more than 30 days before the flight and notified them via secured message on their website and telephone.
Any way, just a heads up to other posters.
