I feel like I've sufficiently researched train options, traveling from Nice to Venice or Nice to Florence.

Now, I'm exploring renting a car once on the Italian-side of the border and returning it to Venice or Florence.

What's the best place to pick up a rental car once in Italy (traveling from Nice) with the intent of touring through Tuscany?

I don't see a pick-up location in Ventimiglia.
