same problem with a large backtrack, all travel should continue in the same direction. you can probably do JFK-LAX-ICN-MNL but by going from LAX to JFK first you are increasing significantly the journey, approx 5,600 miles for LAX-ICN becomes approx 9,300 by going via JFK
