Spent a wonderful day here ... it's worth giving yourself the time to do the two suggested nature walks, a tour with a guide from the entrance and then just losing yourself because the light changes during the day highlighting different parts of the weird and wonderful architecture! It's also very different when the tide is in from when it's out!

Might be worth doing a quick 'mug-up' of The Prisoner though beforehand! And the shops are generally of a tourist nature but the bookshop is definitely worth spending time in!

We stayed at the Brynllydan Hotel, a very short drive away down what seems a never-ending track to the hotel from the main road between Penrhyndeudraeth and Beddgelet but when you get to journey's end you'll find fantastic views over the Snowdonia national park and the Afon Dwyryd estuary, a world away from hustle and bustle with clean and comfy accommodation, the friendliest of folk and DELICIOUS locally-sourced food - http://brynllydanhotel.com/default.aspx. If you arrive on the day the hotel's restaurant is closed, do what we did if you like Indian food ... the Sima Restaurant in Porthmadog's high street has an amazing set meal deal ... get the hotel to book for you as the Sima is very small and you have to reserve in advance for this feast!
