The rubbish currency conversion rates between AUD and GBP is nothing to do with the card itself but due to the global economy and AUD being probably about the most buoyant major western currency out there at the moment.
That is not the point. I choose to spend A$ rather than sterling because I was advised of the offer (ie they promoted foreign spend) I am aware of the strong aussie and NZ $ would not be travelling there if I was bothered about currency strength, am more annoyed about terrible customer service
