There were no actual DC-9-10s built. Instead, there were two main subvariants of the short fuselage DC-9 series 10, being the DC-9-14 and and the DC-9-15. These aircraft did not have leading edge devices

Happy Friday Everyone!
I have to reminisce here. I rode Hawaiian's first DC-9-10 variant when it started service in 1966 from HNL to LIH. HA then took delivery of the DC-9-30 series in 1968 because they wanted to start jet service using a short runway in Kailua Kona so the higher lift from the leading edge slats of the 30 series wings were needed.

Somewhere around 1965 or 1966 was my first flight on a BAC One Eleven 200 series between HNL and LIH on Aloha Airlines. The One Elevens were eventually phased out around 1970 and were replaced by 737-200s.
