The first list is also identified as "Soul Food" in the north and in certain communities is still the norm. I'd say it is universal in the South, but in the North is still alive and kicking among many African-American families.
The second list is just a health conscious person and I would associate it more with high income rather than a region.
Much easier to find good soul food restaurants in the South and good Bar-B-Que restaurants in GA, SC, TX, Memphis and Kansas City.
