Echino, big thanks for posting this. Since I read your post I've had it in the back of my mind to try to make this trip work. After working on it over the past several months, I'm pleased to say that I've successfully been able to make it work mostly in J for 2. Am booked with aeroplan to travel late in the spring of 2012 in from HNL-YVR and then in the fall YVR-LAX-RAR-open jaw PPT-AKL STOP-SYD-YVR-HNL. Have had some trouble getting availability with NZ in J - hoping more will open up as we get closer to the trip. Any comments on when J availability from NZ opens up relative to travel date would be appreciated.
