She came back with the answer I didn't want to hear (but was rather expecting): because I recently had the standard Lloyds Avios Duo cards, my Premier account was considered an "upgrade" and not eligible for any kind of introductory offer. After all, I had received an introductory bonus on the other card, so couldn't expect another bonus. "But no!", I cried. "I did not receive any bonus whatsoever from the other cards" [rather ashamed to admit that here, but it's actually true!]. Even so, if you're had cards before, then not eligible for any introductory bonuses. She didn't say how far back they checked, but I got the impression it could be quite a long time.
Why are you conceding defeat? Have you looked at the contract between you and Lloyds? Which section of the contract was the person in the call centre referring to when they told you this? I can't see anything in it that prevents you from getting the bonus miles, although I haven't looked closely. But I would if it was me. The closest I can see is this:
Customers will only be eligible for one joining bonus from Avios, In the event that a customer re-applies for the Lloyds TSB Premier Duo Avios Credit Card Account, Lloyds TSB may process an application and issue the Lloyds TSB Premier Duo cards but Avios will not award further bonus offers.
which doesn't appear to prohibit the bonus in your case.
