It does seem strange the criteria form reading through the threads. I fully expected to be rejected since I always pay cards off in full and clear 10-45K a month through them (I'm quite lucky when it comes to business expenses). However I was approved for the Avios card with what I would describe an average limit (not great but not as insulting as I have read here).
I have had several security checks so far when they have blocked online transactions and their security checks are interesting. All taken from the credit file and questions have included the age of my brother, detailing a house I lived in as a child (over 20 years ago!). I wonder if the credit checks are being extended to related parties rather than your own credit file?
On a different note, Lloyds are the worst credit card company I have ever dealt with. They are in the dark ages for every dealing I have had with them, from the application itself, 10x promotion, security checks, additional card holder application, request to access account online etc. And if they try and sell me another product each time I have to call them I will scream!
