Obviously I'm some sort of freak around here but I just can't get my head around the integrity of it all.

Very well said Eujeanie - one has to wonder that if one cannot afford a few bucks for fees (or their heart burns paying for it) then what kind of an individual they are. FT is a great place to "learn" about promotions, discussing point maximizing strategies but when I see people trying to avoid paying for stuff that they willing signed up for and want, milking the system by coming up with approaches like "fuel dump" (that sort of activity is almost criminal intent as it is nothing short of fraud) it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Would you want to walk in a restaurant and ask for food to be served and not pay for it - just imagine if it was your business would you want such people who would not want to pay the fees, or take it further by using FD strategies and make your business bankrupt. To make the argument that the cc companies make enough money by one's use of the card is as lame as it gets - it is like saying hey Mister doorman why should I pay the cover charge for the entrance to the club, I'll be spending hundreds of dollars on alcohol when I am inside.
