Oh please.................more stores? Who cares.
More space, normally equals far more distance and walking, not a good thing.
Expanded security, etc? Oh please give me a break, have you visited any of the examples I cited? Both the "before and afters" occurred POST 9/11.
I have learned that efficiency is generally based on culture, expectations and in cases such as this unions. Baggage at LHR T5 and MAD T4 come slower than before despite the hundred million dollar plus computerized systems that were installed. At SIN T3 (perhaps an actual good example which I admittedly did not cite above) it comes quite quickly........as it did at the earlier built terminals.
It is not built yet, but mark my words, and everyone is welcome to come back and examine this thread again ins everal years time when T4 is finished...........
Check in times will be longer for elites
Security lines and waits will be longer.
Distances and therefore the times to get to the gates will be longer.
Baggage reclaim will be the same or longer.
There will be more shops, but generally with the same mix of useless crap found at most US airports.
Customs lines on average will be WORSE at T4 (as they have been every single time I have been trough T4 in the last 10 years)
Despite all of the above coming true, some will no doubtably love it just because it is new and has more shops.............
