So over the course of a year the OP had...
1. A broken seat on PVG-LAX.
2. The cancelled nonstop JFK-AUS flight, and subsequent wrong info from the call center.
3. Mediocre service on GIG-JFK.

I can understand why he wants to leave AA. DL and CO/UA never have problems with their seats, change their schedules, run out of certain meal choices, or have FAs that are anything but proactive throughout the flight and obviously thrilled to be serving you.

Yes, everyone agrees that CX does a better job in all respects, but try flying them from the US to Argentina or JFK to Austin. If you're paying for business or first class outright, and aren't relying on miles or upgrade instruments, then by all means vote with your feet. Unfortunately there aren't enough of you to induce AA or any other US carrier to invest in a consistent, truly top-notch front cabin experience.
