Is there a way to do a target city afternoon layover? (for Mardi Gras)
In a month I am going to see my grandparents near Sarasota, Florida. My girlfriend thought it would be fun to stop in New Orleans for an afternoon during Mardi Gras. A multi-city on Delta.com puts the fare at approx $700, but a round-trip is roughly half of that.

Depart: DTW (MDW or ORD)
Layover: MSY, for an afternoon or so
Destination: SRQ, for 3 nights
Return: DTW (MDW or ORD)

Looking to accomplish this in late February. Is there a way to do this? I sincerely appreciate you guys. Thank you.
