That's a reason to wait in hope for schedule changes >90 minutes if the award travel date is distant.

Thanks - that is what I thought. I really can't imagine trying to burn these miles as a non-elite! At least as Plat I can book less than ideal routings that "work enough" and hope for better. Oh well, it is what it is!
