Ten days in India 15 years ago and I had heat stroke, gastro enteritis and two weeks later, on our return to the uk, a diagnosis from my doctor in the uk that I contracted a v v v mild form of plague.

Sorry, but you really made me chuckle. I can just imagine the dinner party conversation when you talk about the time you got the plague in India. India has changed considerably in 15 years, but you could still get heat stroke. It's probably an awful lot safer than a UK hospital, though.
