Given the current consolidate at Heathrow strategy, MAN-HND on BA seems very unlikely. Utilizing an A380 for this route would be even less likely. If anything, such routes would be 787 material. I wouldn't get my hopes up though.
Unrelated to fleets and routes; the EU is likely to take a close look at this. The Commission didn't take kindly to open skies agreements being conducted between the US and various Member States in the mid 90s. The EU has since taken the approach that as much as possible should be done at the Community level, though Member States are of course open to form bilateral service agreements. Any such agreement must also not hinder other EU carriers from doing business, therefore, LH, KL, AF or any other Community carrier should under this treaty be able to fly between any UK airport and Japan.
