First post here form a long-time lurker...

I was also here during the Sugar Bowl. Will say that the rooms are significantly nicer/cleaner than my last visit in 2002, though they're still convention-sized.

The elevator system is funky - you type in your floor or swipe your key card and it tells you which one to go to. No buttons in the elevators. Only two of the eight go to the Regency Club - that was the only time I waited. System worked great except after the football game, when the system overloaded and soon every elevator was flashing that it was stopping on every floor.

Similarly, TV system was confusing at first, but having an updated program guide available on-screen is a nice touch.

Love getting a local newspaper in the morning, and the Club had great offerings with a spectacular view.

If you're going to the French Quarter/Bourbon Street you'll want to cab it, but for Superdome events this is the spot.
