During light turbulence a baby would need to be secured with a belt in a Skycouch, but in a Bassinet, the clip stud secured cover would be sufficient, allowing the baby to remain in the cot.

During any other form of turbulence, would you really want your baby not to be secured?

In a seat, or SkyCouch, the smart move is to get a belt around the baby immediately he/she falls asleep, and then leave it fastened.

I have to say that I'm often slightly surprised at the desire to escape from the seatbelt: The volley of clicks when the signs go off are a testament to the human desire to avoid any kind of restriction. When in a passenger seat, my belt goes low and tight for take-off and is then slightly loosened when the signs go off, and stays that way all flight - to me it is common-sense and practise. Clearly, with kids (I have raised two) it is more complicated, but kids accept belts in cars, and so an aircraft scenario can be managed to a degree, at least
