Buy a round-trip ticket and not use the return? (but note that this is technically frowned upon by the airlines).

(the added advantage or a round-trip ticket is that it will satisfy any return ticket requirements for immigration on entering Viet Nam - unless of course you already have residence or an onwards ticket)
