Visa Change Situation
Hahaha, I really should have seen this coming, but oh, well.
Late December, I was invited to my good friend's wedding in Kazakhstan. At the time, I explicitly asked him if the wedding plans were set & were going to be entirely in his home country. He answered in the affirmative.
Fast forward to today. I just woke up & checked my Facebook messages & now I have to extend my trip dates, get a double-entry visa for KZ & get a single-entry visa to Kyrgyzstan.
Ohhhhh, the ridiculousness. This guy's a great guy, but he gives me serious headaches sometimes. Anyways, I'm not going to start doing anything until I get back from the Bahamas in March since A. I don't want to risk losing my passport before I go to the Bahamas & B. Give him a chance to change plans again. Ridiculousness.
Anyways, my question to you is, if the Embassy of Kazakhstan sees an application for a double-entry visa with conflicting dates with a single-entry visa that has already been given, what do they do? Obviously, I hope they put two-and-two together and approve the double-entry visa, but for what reasons might they not?
And if they approve it, they void the original single-entry visa, correct? How? Is there a stamp or a sticker or something placed on it? I'd prefer they put the double-entry visa over it, but isn't that illegal or something to put visas over other visas, just in case immigration officials notice it & don't know the whole story?
Just wondering if anyone's had any experience with this sort of (extremely annoying) situation. Thanks in advance.
