I was told on Sunday night (by the diamond line) that as a DM I would be accomodated overnight in ATL even if missing a connection due to weather. She did not say what would happen for PMs. As it turned out, there was a mechanical delay after the weather delay, so I didn't have to rely on status.

On Sunday the Sheraton Gateway (ATL) did not give me any points because I used the delta certificate. The certificate clearly showed the $52 rate (about 1/2 the price of other available rates). As SPG platinum, they also wouldn't give me the check-in bonus, but they did give me access to the club lounge and free internet. I had to purchase something (which at midnight was a pre-packaged turkey sandwich for dinner) through my room to get the stay to "count" towards my SPG status for 2013.
