Pilots fly everywhere. Although I don't believe ExpressJet flies to Bethel, AK, other pilots do, and if you'd like to demonstrate that the maximum pay for pilots who fly into Bethel is greater than the maximum for a Bethel-based TSO, please do.
I understand the point you are making, and it is probably true for many of the airlines. I am not certain of the all of the pay bands for pilots flying into or out of Bethel. I can only comment on the TSO bands with some accuracy.

I have no idea what the recruiting set up is like in remote areas. It could be that there just isn't a large enough population to support, although I would find that a bit of a stretch to apply. It could be that the local population covers the need for TSA, it could be the opposite. I merely indicated getting someone to transplant to a location like that is more difficult than getting someone to transplant somewhere like Miami or LA. The entire workforce may have been born and raised within 5 miles of the airport in Bethel - I simply do not know.
